NEW ACQUISITIONS IN THE FALCKENBERG COLLECTION, 2011–2014

01. March – 25. May 2015

The exhibition presents a selection of the lastest acquisitions of the Falckenberg Collection from the years of 2011 to 2014. The title of the exhibition quotes Martin Kippenbergers work of the same name from the collection.

The show will cover nearly 140 works by 60 artists, among them important artists from the dadaistic and punk-influenced sections of the counter culture such as Jerry Berndt, Werner Büttner, Merlin Carpenter, Nicole Eisenman, Dennis Hopper, Ray Johnson, Mike Kelley, Paul McCarthy, Albert Oehlen, Raymond Pettibon, David Robilliard and their german protagonists John Bock, Christian Jankowski, Andy Hope, Christoph Schlingensief and Andreas Slominski. Furthermore, comprehensive documentations of the renowned american photographers Lee Friedlander and Lewis Baltz will be shown.

These are closely connected with conceptual works, which amount to the main focus of the Falckenberg Collection. Latest aquisitions in this field are works by Art & Language, Richard Artschwager, John Baldessari, Monica Bonvicini, Hanne Darboven, Dieter Meier, Olaf Metzel, Konrad Klapheck, Astrid Klein, Imi Knoebel, Tobias Rehberger, Thomas Schütte and Santiago Sierra.

At last, the exhibition will feature young positions such as Thorsten Brinkmann, Nathalie Czech, Sven Johne, Javier Téllez, Ena Swansea as well as classics such as Andreas Feininger, Eric Fischl, Mimmo Paladino and Fred Sandback.
